Symptoms of Abdominal Aorta Problems
The abdominal aorta is the body’s main blood vessel. These symptoms may warrant screening — ask your doctor whether an abdominal aorta ultrasound is appropriate.

Dull or deep pain in the abdomen that may be constant or come and go.

Back Pain
Persistent pain in the lower back, not related to injury or activity.

Pulsating Feeling in the Abdomen
A noticeable throbbing or pulsing sensation near the navel.

Pain in the Side or Groin
Discomfort or pain felt in the sides of the abdomen or in the groin area.

Leg Weakness or Poor Circulation
Fatigue, cramping, or coldness in the legs due to reduced blood flow.

Shortness of Breath in Severe Cases
Occurs if the condition affects blood flow or places strain on the heart.
When to seek emergency care
Sudden, intense pain in the abdomen, back, or chest may indicate an aortic rupture. Call 911 immediately.
